Duplicate record IDs across Xero companies?

We've noticed when rolling over Demo companies that the same record ID are recycled

In our testing of integrating multiple Xero companies, it comes up as the same record ID for different companies. Before we go and re-write code, is this just a theoretical problem or in practise would we ever come across two invoices in different Xero companies with the same ID?
