Start date in Payroll Calendar

Started by ken saboundji -   in UK Payroll

hi, can some one explain to me what they mean about start date in the calendar? is it when the employee has started working for the company?

thank you.
Hiya Ken, in the employee's Employment Tab, the Start Date should be the date that they first started working for your organisation. However, when setting up your Pay Calendar within your Payroll Settings, the start date should be the date of the first pay run you're processing in Xero. As an example, if you're moving over from 1st Sept and you run a Monday to Sunday Pay Calendar, then your start date may be 3rd of Sept as the 1st and 2nd will be included in the last pay run in your previous payroll system.

You might find this Xero U course helpful for setting up your payroll, and this Xero Central article.
