Design Books and Magazines

Started by J S -   in Accounting

Hello, I am a Designer working in the UK.

I buy books and magazines for my work also as inspiration.
What account do I code the purchase?
Many thanks!
Hi
What is the business reason for buying books and magazines? That may help you determine where they should be coded to.

John Knight

The reason is: further education, inspiration, research and being up to date with the market.

You could code the purchases to an overhead expense account for (Staff) Training and Education or what accountants call "Continuing Professional Development".

I usually create an account "subscriptions, books and memberships" and code to there.

Great, thanks!
