US Payroll - My last payroll tax payment was double. How should I proceed?

Started by Travis Northcutt -   in US Payroll

I use Xero for managing payroll, and make payroll tax payments electronically from within Xero.

I just noticed that my last payroll tax payment was double the usual amount – despite the actual pay run being the normal amount. I don't remember if it was double the usual amount when I initiated the payment two weeks ago in Xero, or if it somehow got doubled in the 10 days between initiating and when it was paid.

What's the right way to handle this moving forward? If it matters, this is for an LLC, taxed as an S Corp, with me as the sole employee.
Hi Travis - I see a Payroll Support Specialist reached out to you regarding the duplicate payment. After review there were two pay runs processed for the tax period.
Please reach out to us if you have further questions.
