How do I allocate a customer credit note at time of receipt without bank feed?

Started by Catherine Hodgson -   in Accounting

Hi there

Our client needs to allocate a customer sales receipt against multiple customer invoices and credit notes.

The credit notes do not relate to specific invoices nor do we wish them to show as such.

The clients bank is not currently compatible with Xero and there is therefore no bank feed available.

We have tried processing the receipt as an overpayment via the bank account. However when trying to allocate the payment the credit notes do not appear in the list of invoices available for allocation.

Please can you tell me if there is a way around this?

Many thanks.

Best wishes
Catherine
