We are trying to set it up at the moment. At first help was really responsive for testing. We are now trying to go live and can't get hold of anyone from support.. we are actively looking for an alternative

Hello All,

I wanted to give my assessment on how I integrated my Shopify store to Xero Accounting. I run an e-commerce store (www.suvabeauty.com) and we started selling in March 2015 and I migrated to Shopify & Xero Accounting in April 2015. We are a Canadian company (that sells in USD$) so this is key to my post as I found that my integration options were more limited for Canadian’s And/Or dual currency Xero/Shopify Setups.

My integration strategy started out with:
• Manual Integration – Painful & Time consuming
• Tried Zapstitch – Didn’t handle my currency situation well and didn’t help much with bank reconciliation (But the setups looks great for a lot of people)
• Tried, Carry The One (CTO) – The User Interface isn’t as fancy but the actual automation easily handled my currency/tax integration. AND, most importantly it allowed me to automate my bank reconciliation!.

Most of XERO recommended apps have great support as if you are not responsive in today’s market you will fail very quickly. I was especially happy about the support offered by Carry The One as well because I even made an large error in my setup (Ughhh..) which caused transactions to be attributed to the wrong account. CTO support (Shout out to Lech) spent an hour with me over Skype and went through everything line by line and helped me correct everything. Well done.

If you have any questions about my path to automation (isn’t that our ultimate dream!) let me know as I am in early days as well and like to hear your experiences.

Wish the customer support was a lot more efficient. Trialled software with good results, emailed for help, email response very slow 8 days. even though on trial version quicker support should have been better. Email response was to implement a change to benefit us, 2 days later still waiting. Cancelled paypal payment.

UPDATE, after an apology from cto, i am re-trialing the software. cto had had a few problems with major fixes with an extenion for bigcommerce. i have accepted there genuine apology and have spoken to them via skype, with perfect customer support. I am changing this review from 1 star to 3 stars at this present time and once has sampled the software again, may very well change further.

This is an update for review of cto. We have integrated cto into bc & xero. When an order is made from (ebay, amazon or bc website) cto imports that order, customer information, address, contact details into xero. No more copy and paste. We are currently manually checking orders and just adding payments to orders, but cto system allows you to adjust this automatically. At the moment this software will save us hours, once we change cto to automatically add payments to orders, the hours saved will be priceless. Altogether a great product, and my thanks goes to Lech for the help and support from initial problems to be being solved.


Does the job (osCommerce-Xero interface), and customer support is very helpful and responsive.

We've been using CarryTheOne for integration between Shopify and Xero for over a year now, and couldn't be happier with the product and the customer support.

Initially we tested multiple integrations to see what would provide the best integration for our needs, and we narrowed our selection down to two options. Both were good, but each one missed a key feature that the other supported. I contacted CarryTheOne to ask why they didn't support the missing feature and within a couple of days they had updated their integration to include it.

Throughout the time we've been using the product there have been new features added (e.g. Shopify POS support and auto-posting Xero transactions for payment processing fees) which go beyond the basic eCommerce order integration.

I've contacted CarryTheOne support a couple of times about unusual scenarios generated by our order data, and their response has always been fast and very helpful. Most of the time this product works so consistently that we don't have to give it much thought.

Creates duplicate invoice numbers from Magento so doesn't comply with UK accounting best practices. Kills magento ie very resource hungry. Have emailed, filed forms twice and still no response - very poor customer service.

I've been able to do a really tight integration between Magento and Xero. They have even added new features into the software on request! Great service all round.
