Xero Business Community

Hi everyone, Come on over to the new discussions in Xero Central. It’s a more intuitive way to connect and chat all things business with one another. Ask questions, dish out answers, and get involved.

You can still view topics in the Xero Business Community to see all the useful knowledge that’s been shared there; and you can restart conversations you feel have been of huge value to you on Xero Central.

If you have brilliant ideas for innovations, you can keep on adding feature requests in the Xero Business Community, and voting on existing requests. There’s more in store, as we come up with the best way to take on your thoughts and share developments

UK Payroll: Pension contributions for new starters

Started by Kerry Costello -   in UK Payroll

When an employee is being auto enrolled for the first time, the contributions being deducted should show on the draft payslips not once the payroll has been posted, as the draft payslips are used to check and approve the payroll, so by the time it has been posted it is too late and you would need to revert the payroll if any amendments are needed. We have also had clients paying from the draft payslips so the contributions were missed and the employees overpaid.
Hey Kerry, Xero carry's out the employee's assessment once you've clicked Post - you'll see a window appear highlighting the eligible employees. If you want to check the payslip before posting, you can just click Save and Review, then Cancel and the contributions should be showing.
Note, Xero will carry out the assessment again when you re-click Post in case any changes were made that would affect the assessment - you can then click Complete Pay Run to post it.

As you can check the contributions on the payslips before posting, I'll change your post from a feature request 😊
