Xero HQ - Giving staff access to client organisations

Started by Mike Jefferson in Feature Requests | Idea

We manage a lot of clients across multiple offices with a lot of staff. The system in HQ for allocating access doesn't make this easy. We don't want every staff member to have access to every client as it looks messy and confusing for clients looking through their user list. Much happier if it was easy to allocate just staff from a specific office to their relevant clients. I know that you can give staff access to a group of clients but then when a new client is added to that group, it doesn't add it to those staff members.

Some ideas that might help solve this problem as there must be a number of large firms that have a similar issue:

1. Create staff groups in HQ. Then when you have a client you can just tick to give a group of staff access.

2. Perhaps better than option 1, staff are given access to client groups so when you add a new client to that group it automatically gives those staff access to the new client.

3. Alternatively, don't show our staff members on the client's user list and then it makes it more feasable (though not ideal still) to add all staff members to each client.

Anyone else have a similar issue/ good way of managing this?
